There are a number of places it is possible to get further training in equine dentistry, but unfortunately for us Europeans, these are mainly found in the USA and now also in Australia. There are occasionally seminars and hands-on labs being held also in Europe, usually through the equine veterinary associations in the different countries. If you are interested in someone to lecture about dentistry anywhere in the world, let me know and I will put you in touch with vets I know who travel around doing lectures.

The best way to learn by far, in my opinion, is to spend some weeks or months (depending on what level you are on) alone in practice with a vetwho is already specialicing in equine dentistry and who has a big case load of dentistry patients, or with a good equine dental technician. That will give you a chance to see and feel a lot of different dental cases over a short period of time, and you will learn a lot, guaranteed. Even if you do attend courses in academies, you should also work as an apprentice for a while before starting your own dentistry business.

Here are links to some schools and courses offering further training in the field of equine dentistry:

There are some serious and good schools out there, but be aware that there is to this date no governing body in any country that regulates and sets standards and defines the name horse dentist, equine dentist or dental technician. Be therefore careful when schools and short courses promises to make you a certified dentist without knowing

If you know about other training possibilities, please let me know and I shall add it fot the information of others interested.
